Lost or Damaged Material

If a patron loses or renders a document unusable, he or she will be responsible for the cost of the document. The patron will also be responsible for any outstanding fines if any, and an administration fee.

Book Deposit Box

When the library is closed, you may return your books in the deposit box located to the left of the main entrance to the library. To prevent any damage to documents, we would ask you to deposit only one book at a time in the deposit box.

Renewing a document

A document may be renewed a maximum of three (3) times if this document was not reserved by another patron. Renewals can also be done by telephone, email or by internet at www.bibliohearst.on.ca and click on Library on-line catalogue.

Placing a hold

If a document is not available, a patron can place a hold on it. Once the document becomes available, someone from the library will contact the patron to let them know. Once the patron has been contacted, the document will be kept on hold for a period of 4 days. When the 4 days have expired, the document will be placed on the shelf and will become available to other patrons.

Special loan

A patron who is leaving for a vacation or for an undetermined amount of time can borrow the documents for a prolonged period of time. You must mention it to the personnel of the library at the time of your loan.
